Welp, here it goes! Day 1 of documenting the creative processes unfolding within the bricks-and-mortar that is GRO designs. (We like to affectionately call it our “organized chaos.”) Hopefully you’ve stumbled upon us because you enjoy a pleasantly surprising pop of color or to get inspiration for your coffee table. Maybe you’re tying the knot and your bouquet has to be better than so and so’s. Either way, I’m glad you’re here. Let me introduce you to some of my friends…

Nathan
Meet our fearless leader! His infectious energy and zest for all things light, color and sound make all who know him want to grab onto life with the same gusto. In 2007, his event design company, GRO designs, came into the world to knock your literal socks off with artistic twists in event, corporate and home floral design. To see his work is the kind of take-your-breath-away moment that leaves you pondering how did he get that piece of driftwood to do that? A true creative, this one.

Brandon
Brandon would be what some would call the plant whisperer. Killing your succulents after your third time turns out to not be so charming? Not quite so sure why your plants aren’t loving the bath you’re drowning them in a couple times a day? And what the heck is partial sun in Texas? Brandon’s got an answer for you. Designing and executing alongside his brother, Nathan, Brandon’s intense education in horticulture makes him our botany expert.

Stephanie
We scooped Stephanie up as soon as she was ripe out of college. Her ability to articulate an idea into tangible design makes her an integral part of GRO’s team. As an assistant designer, she masters the art of layering textures and melding different premium product down to the smallest detail. Whether it is building elaborate bouquets or constructing an eye catching corporate arrangement, Stephanie’s creative bone helps her to pull of the most intricate and beautiful creations.

Krisi
With a sweet and sincere demeanor that will disarm you in a matter of seconds, Krisi manages to keep us all in line. She’s married to our man in charge. She is the sugar to Nathan’s salt. The skinny jeans to his Chuck Taylors. The Wisconsin to his Bon Iver. (Sidebar: if Bon Iver is not a household name, we gotta talk.) I hope you get to meet her in person if you are getting married. She is one of the wedding consultants here, the second being her partner in crime, Yours Truly.

John Paul
This guy has a knack for installation construction. Heck, any kind of construction. I swear he can create a functional work of art out of a doorknob and a string of chicken wire. Always armed with a tool belt (that I’m pretty sure he sleeps in) and a fresh Mountain Dew, John Paul produces incredible structural work that enhances many components of the event design projects at GRO.

Lauren
That’s me! I love crazy surprises, big events and any excuse to celebrate… so I write about it. I love the texture of a letterpress invitation, the giddiness of a new bride and being part of a team that feels like family. You can usually find me drinking something warm and delicious while writing feverishly in a coffee shop somewhere. My favorite part of being the new face at GRO is watching creative processes unfold and inviting you to take a peek at the life off Peak. I want you to enjoy our space. Enjoy our creations. Enjoy our design. But most of all just enjoy.
